The state of Afghanistan is amidst the grips of calamity and cries both human-caused and natural. The people are entrenched in the severity of circumstances and life has become very hard for them.
This time around Afghanistan is hit by the hardest calamity of the earthquake that has shaken the land and people to its apex.
A minimum of 1000 persons died and at least 1,500 were injured in the great quake in the distant provinces of Paktika and Khost.
The 6.1 magnitude earthquake has caused severe destruction to the homes and other buildings. The construction industry of Afghanistan is not well structured and homes are ill-constructed and breakage is common.
The earthquake has worsened the already deteriorated humanitarian crisis. People are shattered, worried, upset, hungry, and under the depression of such hard circumstances.
There are stones and bricks everywhere from destroyed homes. People are amid broken properties.
The administration of the Taliban has asked for global sustenance as the country is dealing with an unbearable situation.
The Fatalities were registered in the Zirok, Nika, Barmal, and Giyan regions of Paktika province.
The earthquake is the deadliest in decades in the hardest times of starvation and economic disasters.
According to the statistics,
“The disaster hit the state at 1:24 a.m. local time on Wednesday 22, June 2022 about 46 kilometers that make 28.5 miles southwest of the city of Khost. The earthquake registered at a depth of 10 kilometers that makes 6.2 miles.”
The World Health Organization (WHO) has also shown concern for the situation and announced that groups are available for emergency response of delivering medication, shock services, and conduction of needs.
The state has highlighted the need for generous acts from the outside world in times of crisis.
