The South Korean k-pop group BTS has no doubt touched the apex of success in their career. Their accomplishments have been so exceptional that the rules of the country are double-considered for them.
South Korea is a neighbor to North Korea that has been active in mounting military nuclear weaponry. In correspondence to that factor, the men of South Korea must fulfill their duty.
According to the South Korean minister of defense, Lee Jong-sup,
“Military service must not be a restriction to BTS performing. By allowing BTS to continue to perform while serving, the military could defend the interests of the nation without being concerned about the shrinking labor force caused by low birth rates. If there are scheduled concerts abroad, there would be a method to offer them a chance to practice and perform together even if they enlist in the military. The fact that so many people value [artists serving in the military] might help increase their appeal even further.”
There is always a way or alteration for highly contributory South Korean personalities.
According to the law, every man in the country is obligated to serve 20 months in the army between the ages of 18 and 28.
BTS members were offered the opportunity to delay beginning their service till they aged 30 beginning in 2020.
The issue is attracted prominence and gained the interest of people in South Korea and even abroad. The success of BTS is comprehensive. Jin, the oldest member of the K-pop group, enters 30 years old the next year.
The idea of shortening service to 3 weeks is also being considered in parliament. Furthermore, military service is debated in South Korea as the efforts to avoid military service caused harm to career.
Although, members of the BTS have shown a willingness to serve.
There are exemptions as well in South Korea for the military. Well over years, some men have obtained exemption, permitting them to delay or service for a short period.
However, all South Korean men must fulfill their responsibility.
